Owiredu's career includes serving as High Commissioner of Ghana to South Africa at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs at Government of Ghana. In the 9th Parliament, Owiredu is Deputy Ranking Member of the Information and Communications Committee and is a member of the Security and Intelligence and Standing Orders committees.
