Kwaku Agyeman Kwarteng is the Member of Parliament for Obuasi West in the Ashanti Region, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Kwarteng is serving a fourth term, having also served in the 6th Parliament, 7th Parliament and 8th Parliament. Born on 12 February 1969, Kwarteng hails from Kokofu, Ashanti. Kwarteng was educated at KNUST, Kumasi (MSC Environmental & Sanitation Engineering, 2013; BSC Civil Engineering, 1996) and University of Ghana (MA Economic Policy Management, 2009). Kwarteng's career includes serving as Policy Advisor at New Patriotic Party and Communications Director at New Patriotic Party. In the 9th Parliament, Kwarteng chairs the Budget Committee and is a member of the Employment, Labour Relations and Pensions Committee.
