Mahama Ayariga is the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central in the Upper East Region, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Ayariga is serving a fifth term, having also served in the 4th Parliament, 6th Parliament, 7th Parliament and 8th Parliament. Born on 12 May 1974, Ayariga hails from Bawku. Ayariga was educated at Ghana School of Law (Barrister at Law, 1999). In the 9th Parliament, Ayariga chairs the Business Committee, chairs the Independent Constitutional Bodies Committee, chairs the Special Committee (Winnowing) and is a member of the Security and Intelligence, Committee of Selection and Standing Orders committees.
