Joseph Appiah Boateng is the Member of Parliament for Afram Plains South in the Eastern Region, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Boateng is serving a third term, having also served in the 6th Parliament and 8th Parliament. Born on 24 August 1975, Boateng hails from Obo Kwahu. Boateng was educated at Accra Business School (Masters in Business Administration, 2022), Award Training in Higher Education (Post-Graduate, 2020) and St. Fidelis Secondary School (SSCE, 1996). Boateng's career includes serving as Chief Executive Officer at Twenty's Jog and Nurse at Regis Wentwealth Maner. In the 9th Parliament, Boateng chairs the Employment, Labour Relations and Pensions Committee and is a member of the Local Government and Rural Development, Environment, Science and Technology, Assurance and Constitutional and Legal Affairs committees.
