Eintracht Frankfurt signs Hugo Larsson

Eintracht Frankfurt has signed Swedish Hugo Larrson on a five-year deal for a reported €11.5m until 2028.

He joins the club from Malmö FF and he will wear the No. 16 jersey. The Swedish national has gained experience in European competition as he played in the recent UEFA Europa League and also featured in the Sweden National Team.

The club dubbed his signing as “one of the most promising players in his age category.” The 18-year-old midfielder can also play as a defensive or central-midfielder.

He made 59 appearances for Malmö, out of which 13 of were in European competition, and has a Goal and assist to his credit. He also featured in Sweden’s U17 and U 21 national teams with 12 appearances and made his debut in the senior national team In a 2-0 victory over Finland. He debuted for his former club Malmö in February 2022.

Larsson is Frankfurt’s third signing as the team looks forward to beefing up their squad for next season. The have signed Ecuadorian Defender Willian Pacho (21) from Belgian team Royal Antwerp and Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush (24) from Wolfsburg.

“Hugo Larsson is a young and already established midfielder with enormous potential, and who will strengthen our squad,” said board member for sport Markus Krösche. “Despite his tender age, Hugo is already a regular starter for the current Swedish cup holders, which gives you an indication not only of his talent but also his character. We’ll build him up and help him to take his next steps. We’re convinced that he will provide us with lots of excitement in the future.” Board member for sport, Markus Krösche stated.

“The discussions that we had with Hugo were full of mutual respect right from the very start,” added Timmo Hardung, who will be taking over as sporting director on 1 July. “Despite being so young, Hugo already creates a very mature impression and will be a perfect fit for our team, both on the pitch and in terms of his personality. We’re delighted that Hugo has decided to join Eintracht Frankfurt and we will give him all the time he needs to adapt to life in the Bundesliga.”

Eintracht Frankfurt is a German team based in Frankfurt, Hesse. They finished the season 7th behind Bayern Leverkusen with 50 points out of 34 games played and they managed to win 13 games, lost 10 and drew 11. After Conceding 52 goals and scoring 58 goals, the managed to find a spot in the UEFA Europa League.
