The old ladies of Turin, Juventus scored a saving goal in injury time to make it a 1-1 tie against Spanish side Sevilla in the EUFA Europa League Semi final first leg.

Juventus hosted the visitors, Sevilla for the first leg of the EUFA Europa League Semi final and both teams managed to score a goal apiece in seperate halves which leaves the second leg as the determinant of who advances to the final to face either As Roma or Bayern Leverkusen.

Allegri’s side started the game missing clear chances as ace Dusan Vlahovic couldn’t find the net multiple times. In a counter attack, Luca Ocampos assisted Youssef En- Nesyri with a thru ball who smashed the ball into the far left of the net in the 26th minute. Sevilla held the game till the first half was over.

After Iling Jr., Feredrico Chiesa and Paul Pgba came on in the second half, the game redirected in favour of Juventus as the created multiple chances.

A corner assisted by Paul Pogba’s header gave Feredrico Gatti a free header to save Juventus and make it a tie in their home.

Speaking after the game, Allegri felt that his side were deserving of a first-leg draw.

“We started well, but we made many mistakes in the final third and at the first counter-attack, they scored,” said the Juventus boss.
“We had to be careful, then a good second half, a deserved result, I’m happy.”

Allegri was complimentary of Sevilla’s performance.

“They are good, they have experience,” he added. “They defended well, the four forwards ran like mad men!”.

The fate of both teams shall be determined in the second leg, Thursday 18, May at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium
