The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has officially launched the Youth Tracker/Youth Xplore App together with the AgTractive Campaign, a twin initiative aimed at centralising youth-related services, creating equal access to opportunities and making agriculture attractive to young Ghanaians.
Speaking at the launch event on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo described the Youth Xplore App as a game-changing digital platform that consolidates all youth programmes, job opportunities, skills development pathways and empowerment initiatives onto a single, user-friendly interface.
He noted that the app is equipped with advanced analytics that track low-crowd data, labour market trends, regional dynamics and national priorities, and does not just store information but interprets data, provides real-time insights and directly informs policy decisions.
He added that the app will ensure that opportunities will no longer depend on “who you know” but will be accessible to every young Ghanaian with a smartphone.
George Opare Addo, quoting research from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), revealed that every dollar invested in sustainable agriculture can generate up to $16 in returns, underscoring the economic potential of the sector for youth.
The accompanying AgTractive Campaign seeks to reposition agriculture as a modern, technology-driven and profitable venture for young people.
Country Director of AGRA Ghana, Dr. Betty Annan, explained that the campaign will connect interested youth to financing, training, markets and innovation ecosystems to help them build successful agribusinesses.
Chief Director of the Ministry, Emma Ofori-Agyemang, emphasised that the launch fulfils the Ministry’s core mandate of coordinating and harmonising all youth-focused interventions across government and partner agencies to deliver measurable impact.
The Minister commended the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) for its technical and financial support in developing and rolling out the Youth Tracker/Youth Xplore App, and called on all stakeholders – including the private sector, development partners and civil society – to rally behind the initiatives to secure a brighter future for Ghana’s youth.
The Youth Xplore App is now available for download on both Android and iOS platforms.
