Ireland has deported 42 South African nationals living illegally in the country at an initial cost of €735,000, authorities have disclosed. The group, comprising nine men, 18 women and 15 children, departed Dublin Airport on a specially chartered flight on Thursday and arrived in South Africa on Friday. A suspected carjacking gang operating in the Kumasi has been dismantled following a police operation that resulted in the death of two suspects and the arrest of another, the Ghana Police Service has confirmed. The Bank of Ghana’s total assets expanded to GH¢321.38 billion in March 2026, driven by stronger foreign asset holdings, increased investments in foreign securities and the continued growth of gold reserves. According to the central bank’s latest Monthly Statistical Bulletin, total assets increased from GH¢310.58 billion in February 2026, representing a month-on-month rise of GH¢10.8 billion, or 3.5%.
