The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has constituted a joint committee to thoroughly review the final proposals submitted by the Constitutional Review Committee (CRC) to President John Dramani Mahama.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, with the committee tasked with studying the CRC’s recommendations and providing advice to the party’s National Council.

The committee will be co-chaired by Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin (commonly known as Anyimadu), the ranking member of Parliament’s Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee, and Frank Davies Esq., Chairman of the NPP’s Constitutional and Legal Committee.

Other members of the committee include parliamentarians Hon. Hassan Tampuli, Hon. Osei Bonsu Amoah (OB Amoah), Hon. Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Hon. Dr. Mahama Tiah Abdul-Kabiru, Hon. Fati Abubakar, and Hanifa Adjoa Yahaya.

Also on the committee are legal practitioners Gary Nimako Esq. and Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah.

The NPP has cautioned its members to exercise restraint in publicly commenting on the CRC proposals while the joint committee undertakes its review.

The party has assured that its official position on the recommendations will be communicated to the public after the committee completes its work and submits its findings.

The development was announced by the NPP’s National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, via a post on Facebook.
