Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has pledged the full loyalty and commitment of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary caucus to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia following his resounding victory in the party’s presidential primaries.

The Effutu MP made the declaration during a courtesy call on Dr Bawumia at his residence, where the caucus formally congratulated the flagbearer and reaffirmed their support ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“Our commitment as a caucus is to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of our party,” Mr Afenyo-Markin stated emphatically.

He explained that the visit was specifically to extend congratulations to Dr Bawumia on his victory and to assure him of the caucus’s unwavering backing as the party prepares to reclaim power in the next polls.

The Minority Leader stressed that unity within the NPP remains the cornerstone of its strategy for electoral success, adding that the party must remain cohesive to effectively mobilise resources and supporters nationwide.

During the engagement, the caucus commended the peaceful and mature manner in which the primaries were conducted by all aspirants and delegates.

Mr Afenyo-Markin highlighted that the orderly process demonstrated the strength and discipline of the party, qualities he said would be vital in the build-up to 2028.

He called on all party members, supporters, sympathisers, and stakeholders to close ranks and rally solidly behind Dr Bawumia, emphasising that a united front would be the key to victory.

The Minority Leader concluded by expressing the caucus’s strong confidence in Dr Bawumia’s leadership capabilities and his clear vision for the development and progress of Ghana.
