The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the immediate closure of the Premium Passport Application Centres in Accra and Kumasi, effective February 20, 2026.

In a public notice issued on Monday, February 23, 2026, the ministry informed the general public of the decision, which affects all premium passport services previously offered at these facilities in the two major cities.

The statement explained that applicants with pending applications at the affected premium centres are advised to redirect their processes to the Regional Passport Application Centres for continued processing.

Clients requiring assistance can contact the Passport Office Client Service Unit on 0302-754-200.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to delivering quality and efficient passport services despite the changes.

It urged all affected applicants to take note of the new arrangements and cooperate accordingly to avoid any disruptions in their passport applications.

The premium centres were known for offering expedited processing options, and their closure may impact applicants seeking faster services in Accra and Kumasi.

Further details on the reasons for the closure were not immediately provided in the announcement, but the ministry emphasized that standard passport application channels remain available through regional offices.
