Police in the Agona Swedru District have arrested six men for allegedly impersonating National Security operatives and invading a manufacturing company in the Central Region.

The suspects stormed S.I Jun Manufacturing Company Limited at Agona Akwakwa near Mankrong Nkwanta on Tuesday, May 6, 2026, around 12:00 p.m., prompting a distress call to the police.

According to a police statement issued on Thursday, the men arrived in a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GW 8887-V. They were dressed in various uniforms — three in Ghana Immigration Service camouflage, one in military uniform, and two in plain clothes (mufti). The suspects reportedly claimed to be National Security operatives and allegedly assaulted and harassed Chinese nationals at the facility.

Upon receiving the distress call, a police team was swiftly dispatched to the scene. Officers found the vehicle parked at the company premises and discovered three Chinese nationals, Man Guan, Chin Min, and Ma Kaixiang, handcuffed.

The six suspects, identified as Agyemang Benjamin, 32; Mahama Iddrisu Dawuda Seidu, 48; Ofori Isaac, 35; Adom Bills, 32; Hayford Boafo, 47; and Ato Mchenry, 48, were arrested on the spot. All six are currently in police custody at the Agona Swedru District Police Headquarters, assisting with investigations.

The statement added that the Military Police, Immigration Service, and National Security have been contacted to verify the identities and authenticity of the suspects.
