President Mahama, Otumfuo, Ga Mantse to grace 30th GJA Media Awards on Nov. 7
President John Dramani Mahama will be the Special Guest of Honour at the 30th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Media Awards scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Accra.
GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfour announced the date and confirmed the attendance of the President at the launch of the 30th edition of the awards.
Mr Dwumfour said President Mahama, who is also a member of the Ghana Journalists Association, would attend the ceremony as Special Guest of Honour.
The President’s attendance will form part of a gathering of key national figures to mark the milestone 30th edition of the GJA Media Awards, which recognises excellence and professional contributions to journalism.
The GJA President also announced that the Patron of the Association, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, would be present at the ceremony.
The Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, will also attend the awards ceremony as Guest of Honour.
The 30th GJA Media Awards marks the 30th edition of the Association’s flagship awards programme, which has over the years honoured journalists and media organisations for outstanding work and contributions to Ghana’s development and democracy.
The Association received 327 entries from 206 journalists for this year’s awards, with online media accounting for 125 entries, television 111, print 46 and radio 45.
An independent nine-member Awards Committee, chaired by National Media Commission Commissioner and former Daily Graphic Editor Kobby Asmah, has been constituted to review the entries and submit its recommendations to the GJA National Executive for approval.
The awards ceremony will take place in Accra on November 7.
