YEA to deploy 20,000 graduates under GRICS Programme to support 24-Hour Economy

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) is set to launch the Graduates in Corporate Support (GRICS) programme, aimed at deploying young unemployed graduates to corporate firms and industries to support the implementation of the 24-hour economy.

Under the GRICS initiative, 20,000 graduates will be recruited nationwide to provide administrative and operational support to businesses.

This is an addition to the YEA’s broader commitment to creating 23,000 job opportunities for the youth through partnership with security agencies to provide support services to firms operating a 24-hour service.

The announcement was made during the President’s “120 Days Social Contract” update yesterday, where he scored his administration creditably for implementing most of the 26 promises outlined in the document.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Executive Officer of YEA, Malik Basintale, teased the objectives of GRICS, emphasizing its focus on job creation.

“With GRICS, young unemployed graduates will be deployed and attached to corporate firms and industries nationwide to support the 24-hour system,” he wrote.

The policy aims to create sustainable jobs for Ghanaians and enhance national productivity.
The 24-hour economy is a policy initiative originally introduced by the Mahama administration to encourage businesses and companies to operate around the clock, ideally in three shifts per day
