Ghana Qualified For The World Cup By Accident – Nigeria Coach, Jose Peseiro

Newly appointed Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro says Ghana’s qualification to Qatar 2022 was by accident.

According to the Nigerian Head Coach, his player are far better than Ghanaian counterpart and ply their trades in top European clubs as well.

“I have a team with players who play in England, Italy, France, Spain, but unfortunately they didn’t beat Ghana to go to the World Cup,” Peseiro said as quoted by Pulse Nigeria.

The Black Stars qualified for the World Cup for the fourth time in their history at the expense of their Nigerian counterparts, beating them on away goals after playing out a goalless draw in Ghana before settling for a 1 all draw in Nigeria days later.

Jose Peseiro, 62, from Portugal took over from interim manager Augustine Eguaveon who led the Super Eagles to the round 16 stage of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon before losing to Ghana in a double-legged World Cup playoff tie in February.

The Portuguese guided Nigeria to a 10 – 0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, a victory which is the biggest in the history of the national team.
