Ghana Premier League side, Accra Great Olympics have shown keen interest in signing former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder, Benjamin Afutu Kotey who is currently a free agent.

Management of Accra Great Olympics met with Daniel Tackie, manager of the player to discuss a potential free transfer after the midfielder unilaterally terminated his contract with Egyptian Premier League side Eastern Company for failing to honor their end of the contract.

The player has since been in the country with his management team listening to offers for the player to help facilitate a new move for him as several European and African teams lurk around interested in signing the midfielder.

Ghana Premier League champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have also shown interest in the player, likewise bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak. Although no formal contacts have been made with Benjamin Afutu’s camp.

Benjamin Afutu Kotey left for the Egyptian Premier League after playing an integral role in Hearts of Oaks treble winning 2020/21 season, scoring 5 goals that season.

He had limited game time with the Eastern Company SC playing only 8 games the entire 2021/22 season, before eventually terminating his contract with the team for breaching clauses in the contract.
