Inter Milan takes the lead awaiting the second leg to book their place in the Champions League final after beating their local rivals AC Milan at Siro.

The Milan Derby which took place at San Siro saw Simione Inghanzi’s side seal their win over their archrival AC Milan with just eight minutes after the whistle was blown in the first half.

The Milan striker, Eden Dzeko broke the deadlock in the 8th minute with a left foot strike from a corner kick. Henrikh Mkhitaryan three minutes later, put the ball In the net to make it two for the Black and blues.

Later in the game, Lautaro Martinez thought he’d won a penalty, only for the call to be surprisingly overturned following a VAR check.

This is the first time in UCL history where both scorers in a game are beyond 34 years. Eden Dzeko the first scorer is aged 37-year-old and Henrikh Mkhitaryan 34 years old.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan was named the player of the match. Ac Milan seeks to redeem themselves in the second leg as Rafael Leao might be fit to start.

The second leg is slated for May 16 at San Siro.
