Ashanti Region’s Kumawu Consistency’s Member of Parliament, Honorable, Philip Atta Bosoah passes on aged 54.

A reliable source indicates that his demise was confirmed to have happened early this morning, Tuesday, March 28, 2022.

Mr. Atta Bosoah’s sudden death occurred at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

During last Friday’s vote on confirming Prez Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s ministerial’s appointees, the MP was absent.

Having no idea about his whereabouts, his room was forcibly opened up only to meet him collapsed.

Plans to rescue and fly him out of the country for further healthcare were in vain since he passed on while in coma.

The Member of Parliament was however present in Parliament on Thursday, March 23, to partake in the usual parliamentary-related tasks.

A synopsis of his journey to becoming a member of Parliament for the Kumawu Consistency.

Honourable Philip Atta Bosoah, after winning the general elections in 2016 at the Kumawu Consistency, made his premier appearance in Parliament in the year 2017.

He used to be the Chief Executive for the Sekyere East District from June 2005 to January 2009 prior to contesting and winning the elections in 2016.

He equally tutored at the Agogo State College, a secondary institution situated in the Ashanti region of Ghana.

Dating back to the 2016 general elections, he contested on the ticket of the ruling party, New Patriotic Party(NPP) where he had 21,794 votes which tallies to 78.2% of the total votes cast, hence crowning him as the winner of the parliamentary seat for the said year.

However, in the 2020 general elections held, he once again won the parliamentary seat with a total vote of 14,960 which is equivalent to 51.1% of the overall votes cast.
