Abraham Kwaku Gyasi, popularly known as AK Gyasi, has been called to the Ghana Bar, marking a significant milestone in a career spanning public service, political communication and party organisation.

Gyasi was among the 1,568 candidates formally admitted to the legal profession at the Call to the Bar ceremony organised by the General Legal Council in Accra on Friday, October 9, 2026.

His admission adds a legal qualification to his professional background, which includes serving as Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the One District One Factory Secretariat and the Special Initiatives Secretariat under the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

In those roles, he was involved in communicating the work of government initiatives, adding public-sector communication experience to his involvement in politics and governance.

The One District One Factory initiative was a flagship industrialisation policy of the Akufo-Addo administration, designed to promote the establishment and expansion of factories across districts through private-sector investment and government facilitation.

Gyasi has also been active in political organisation through the Law Students Network (LSN), an association of law students aligned with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

As convenor of the network, he has been associated with efforts to engage law students in political discourse, governance and public policy, drawing connections between legal education and the country’s political development.

His admission to the Bar marks a new chapter in that journey, bringing together his experience in public-sector communication, political advocacy and legal training.

The ceremony brought together 1,568 newly qualified lawyers, including serving and former Members of Parliament, journalists, broadcasters and other prominent personalities who have pursued legal education alongside their established careers.
