The Ghana Police Service has arrested one Opoku Emmanuel for allegedly threatening Police and Military personnel in a viral video circulating on social media.
Opoku Emmanuel was arrested on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region in a joint operation by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) and officers from the Jacobu Police Command.
According to the Police, the suspect appeared in a masked video where he issued threats against security personnel. He allegedly warned officers not to attempt arresting armed robbers and further threatened to kill any officer who engaged him.
The suspect is currently in Police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before court in the coming days.
In a statement, the Police reiterated their commitment to dealing firmly with anyone who threatens, incites violence against, or shows disrespect to security personnel.
