Manchester City sails to the Champions League final

The English Cityzens have successfully sailed to the final of the 2022-2023 Champions League final in a 4-0 Victory over Real Madrid.

In the most anticipated match of the Champions League, Pep Guardiola’s men resisted a Spanish Miracle from the White Angels of Madrid a second time as they beat them flawlessly in a 5-1 aggregate at their home, Etihad Stadium.

The second leg of the Semi final was the determinant of who could march on to the final to face the Blue and blacks of Inter Milan at Instabul.

Manchester City settled the score with Bernardo Silva scoring a brace in the first half of the game. With a strike in the 18 yard box, he found the net to break the deadlock in the game in the 23rd minute. He further put the Cityzens ahead after he headed a ricocheted ball  into the net in the 37th minute.


Real Madrid doubled up in the second half after a creating a few chances but they couldn’t actualize the chances. Eder Militão added to his team’s misery when  mistakingly the ball deflected on his thigh into the net swaying Courtois to the other end of the net in the minute.

After Pep Guardiola substituted Kevin De Bruyne, Gundogan and Haalaand, World Cup winner Julian Alvarez closed the curtain for the match with a 90 +1 goal which booked the final for the Cityzens.


Pep Guardiola looks forward to lifting his first Champions League trophy with Manchester City after he was narrowly denied by Madrid last season. 

Erling Haaland could win the Ballon d’or if they are able to secure a win in the final.
