Afenyo-Markin was educated at Bradford University (M.A. Int. Politics & Security, 2011), Ghana School of Law (Professional Law Certificate, 2009) and University of Buckingham (LLB with Management, 2006). Afenyo-Markin's career includes serving as Principal Postal Officer at Ghana Post Company Ltd and Chief Executive at Excel Courier Ghana Ltd. In the 9th Parliament, Afenyo-Markin is Vice Chairperson of the Independent Constitutional Bodies Committee, is Ranking Member of the Appointments Committee and is Ranking Member of the Business Committee.
