Newcastle Football Club Remembers Christian Atsu as today marks 1year since his passing

Ghanaians received the sad news of the passing of Christian Atsu, a player of the Senior National Soccer team as he became a victim of the massive earthquake that hit Turkey on 6th February, 2023.

The former Newcastle football club sensation and Ghanaian footballer died after he had played for his new club Hatayspor and scored a last minute win for the team.
Even after a year, his death still brings grief to the football world and fans.

Christian Atsu played for the Newscastle United Football Club between 2016 and 2021, making one hundred and twenty-one (121) appearances before exiting to his current team Hatayspor in 2022.

The Newcastle Football Club used social media to remember the late Christian Atsu; “One year ago we sadly lost Christian Atsu in the most tragic of circumstances. An incredible person who is fondly remembered by everyone at Newcastle United. Our thoughts are forever with Christian’s family and friends. Oh he is so wonderful.”

Other fans of the team and Christian Atsu also used this opportunity to share tributes to show how they were affected by his tragic death even after a year.

May His soul continue to rest in peace as his legacy lives on.
