The Ghana Police Service has extended an official invitation to Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to assist with investigations following a viral video from the SaveTheJudiciary demonstration held earlier today.
In a statement shared on the Ghana Police Service’s official Facebook page, the police confirmed that they had reviewed multiple video clips from the event—one of which allegedly shows the Effutu MP in a confrontation with an officer.
After assessing the footage, the Police Service formally wrote to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin requesting the presence of Hon. Afenyo-Markin to aid in the ongoing probe.
The officer seen in the video is also expected to cooperate with investigators as efforts continue to uncover the full details behind the incident.
