Rayo Vallecano left back, Franc Garcia has returned to Real Madrid after the Los Blancos triggered the buyback option in his contract with Vallecano.

Garcia will be unveiled at Real Madrid City, Monday, June 12 after they triggered the buyback clause in his contract for an agreed fee of €5m valid until 2027.

He has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Spanish La Liga in his three seasons spent with Los Franjirrojos. He also emerged as the player with the most minutes played in the Champions League last season with a total of 3,408 minutes.

He has been a player of interest to other clubs following his energetic and outstanding performance for Vallecano. However, Madrid has triggered the buy option this transfer window to readmit him to the club thereby quashing Bayern Leverkusen’s hope of signing him. Real Madrid owned 50% of his contractual agreement and an option to buy him back in his contract with Rayo Vallecano.

The 23-year-old made his debut with the first team in a 2018/19 Copa del Rey match against Melilla and gave an assist. He was also instrumental in Vallecano’s promotion to the Primera División in 2020 after spending seven seasons in Madrid’s Youth Academy. He netted two goals for the out of 40 games last season.

Career path:
-Bolaños (2009-13)
– Real Madrid youth categories:
    Under 15s (2013-14)
    Under 16s (2014-15)
    Under 17s (2015-16)
    Under 19s (2016-18)
    Castilla (2018-20)
-Rayo Vallecano (2020-23)
-Real Madrid (2023- )

Manager, Carlo Ancelloti has been impressed with his progress and signed him to join his team ahead of the 2023 2024 season.
