Salomey Baffoe granted GH¢100,000 bail in Ghana Jollof case
The Adenta Circuit Court has granted Salomey Awiti Baffoe bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties, both of whom must be civil servants earning a monthly salary of at least GH¢3,000.
Ms Baffoe is facing an abetment of crime charge in connection with the alleged publication of false news linked to the controversial “Ghana Jollof” TikTok account.
She was represented in court by the Manhyia South Member of Parliament and private legal practitioner, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, who welcomed the court’s decision to grant her bail.
Ms Baffoe was arrested on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at her residence in Hansua, near Techiman in the Bono East Region.
Her arrest attracted public attention after reports that three persons who identified themselves as National Security operatives went to her residence at about 11:30 p.m. and took her away.
The 40-year-old mother of three was subsequently detained, with her family reportedly struggling to establish her whereabouts following the arrest. At the time, the Bono East Regional Police Command and Regional National Security officials were reported to have said they had no record of the operation.
