Ghanaian dancehall artist, Charles Nii Armah Jr, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has publicly apologized to his former manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, best known as Bullgod, over past allegations linking him to the 2014 murder of Fennec Okyere.
The apology, shared via social media on April 30, 2025, marks an attempt to retract his previous claims and reconcile with Bullgod after years of tension.
In 2022, Shatta Wale accused Bullgod of being involved in the unsolved murder of Fennec Okyere, the late manager of rapper Kwaw Kese. He claimed Bullgod had revealed key details to him about the crime, leading to a police investigation and a defamation lawsuit filed against him.
Despite media attention surrounding the case, authorities did not find enough evidence to support Shatta Wale’s claims, leaving the allegations unproven and the case still unresolved.
Now, three years later, Shatta Wale has withdrawn his statements and expressed regret for any harm caused. In his apology, he admitted his comments had been misunderstood and publicly declared he never intended to accuse Bullgod of any wrongdoing.
“I take full responsibility for my words. My past statements were based on emotions, and I deeply regret any damage caused,” Shatta Wale shared.
The apology has sparked mixed reactions among fans and industry observers. While some commend the artist for his accountability, others question his motives and timing, especially with the pending lawsuit.
Bullgod has yet to officially respond to the apology.
