The Ghana Police Service has arrested two persons in connection with the disappearance of a couple in Accra, as investigations intensify to determine their whereabouts.
The missing persons, identified as Dr Jesse Amuah and his wife, Mrs Elizabeth Esi Amuah, were reported missing after they had not been seen or heard from since March 23, 2026.
According to police, a complaint was lodged with the Missing Persons Unit on April 22, 2026. The complainant indicated that the couple’s residence was found locked, while their Nissan Sunny saloon car, with registration number GX 159-X, was not parked at the premises. Several attempts to reach them via phone also proved unsuccessful.
Following the report, a joint team comprising officers from the Missing Persons Unit, the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit, and the Crime Scene Management Team was tasked to investigate the matter.
Police said the team visited the couple’s residence and pursued multiple leads, which resulted in the arrest of two suspects. The identities of the suspects have, however, been withheld for investigative reasons.
The suspects are currently assisting the police with investigations, as efforts continue to locate the missing couple.
The Ghana Police Service has appealed to the public to provide any credible information that could aid in tracing the whereabouts of the couple, urging citizens to report to the nearest police station for prompt action.
