Eleven people were injured in a road accident at Eduadjei on the Cape Coast–Takoradi highway on the evening of February 4, 2026.
According to the Central Regional Fire Service, the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when an Opel Astra (registration WR 4860-13), traveling from Cape Coast towards Komenda, crashed head-on with a Nissan minibus (registration CR 1414-23) heading from Takoradi to Cape Coast.
The Regional Fire Service confirmed that 10 passengers from the Nissan minibus including eight males and two females were rescued by passersby and taken to the Elmina Polyclinic for treatment.
Fire personnel at the scene worked carefully to extricate the driver of the Opel Astra, who was trapped following the collision. He was also transported to the Elmina Polyclinic by the National Ambulance Service.
Officials reported that all debris was cleared from the road to restore traffic flow and ensure safety at the accident site.
“The cause of the accident has not yet been determined and remains under investigation,” an official stated.
