The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has successfully facilitated the departure of the second cohort of 25 Ghanaian beneficiaries to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take up positions as professional drivers.
The group departed the country on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, after completing all mandatory processes in collaboration with the Ghana Labour Department.
In a statement posted on its official social media platforms, YEA announced that the beneficiaries underwent rigorous pre-departure orientation to ensure they are fully prepared for safe, dignified, and rewarding employment abroad.
“Under the visionary leadership of CEO Malik Basintale, the Youth Employment Agency has successfully facilitated the departure of the second cohort of 25 beneficiaries to the United Arab Emirates to work as professional drivers,” the agency wrote.
“This milestone further strengthens the impact of the YEA Work Abroad Programme, delivering life-changing opportunities to Ghanaian youth and proudly expanding Ghana’s presence in the global workforce,” it added.
The YEA Work Abroad Programme is an initiative address youth unemployment by linking skilled and semi-skilled Ghanaian workers with verified international job opportunities, particularly in the Middle East and other labour-receiving countries.
The latest deployment follows an earlier cohort sent to the UAE under the same initiative.
Under the initiative, beneficiaries are provided with employment contracts that meet international labour standards, medical screening, cultural orientation, and travel logistics fully sponsored through the programme.
