Two persons have been killed and another left in critical condition following a deadly dawn clash between rival youth gangs at Mpaasaaso Number 2 in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.

The violent confrontation, according to a citinewsroom report erupted around 3:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 and has led to the deepening of long-standing tensions between residents of Mpaasaaso Number 1 and Mpaasaaso Number 2.

According to reports, the clash involved armed groups from the two neighbouring communities, with gunfire and machete attacks leaving a trail of destruction.

A youth leader of Mpaasaaso Number 2, Kwadwo Asare, confirmed the fatalities and revealed that one of the deceased was a notorious figure known only as Commander One, who was allegedly training young men in violent activities.

“Commander One was among those killed. He has been training some youth to beat people, issue threats, and terrorise the community,” he told Citi FM.

He further disclosed that the area has a history of such violence, recalling a similar incident two years ago at Baniekrom, where three people were shot dead during a gang-related confrontation.
