The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has arrested one person at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra for allegedly presenting forged documents during the ongoing recruitment exercise.
The suspect was apprehended by security personnel at the recruitment centre and is currently in custody awaiting further action, authorities confirmed.
Speaking to Citi News on Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Director of Protocol for the Ghana Armed Forces, Colonel Evelyn Asamoah, stated that the individual would be dealt with according to laid-down military procedures.
“The suspect has been apprehended by the security authorities and will be processed in line with established procedures,” Col. Asamoah said.
The recruitment exercise, which resumed on Thursday after being suspended on November 12 following a deadly stampede that claimed six lives, has so far seen close to a thousand applicants processed at the El-Wak Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, James Agalga, who led a parliamentary delegation to monitor the exercise on Thursday, expressed satisfaction with the improved organisation and conduct of the recruitment process.
The Ghana Armed Forces has urged all applicants to present only genuine documents and adhere to the laid-down guidelines throughout the recruitment period.
