Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has extended her birthday kindness by making generous donations to inmates of the Nsawam Medium Security Prison and patients at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
Marking her birthday on Friday, November 22, 2025, the Vice President dispatched two separate teams to deliver essential items to the two institutions on her behalf.
A delegation led by her Chief of Staff, Alex Segbefia, visited the Nsawam Prisons where they presented cash, bags of rice and sugar, boxes of cooking oil, sardines, bottled water, soft drinks, and sanitary towels specifically for female inmates.
The items were warmly received by the Deputy Director of Prisons, Commander Patrick Thomas Seidu, and his management team, who expressed profound gratitude for the gesture.
In a separate presentation at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, a team organised by former National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, donated bags of rice, sugar, tinned fish, tomato paste, bottled water, cash, and a hot cooked meal for all patients.
The donation was received by Dr. Peggy Asiedu Ekremet, Deputy Clinical Coordinator; Mr. Victus Kpesese, Director of Administration of the Mental Health Authority; Mrs. Agnes Agudu, Chief Nursing Officer; and other senior staff of the hospital.
In a social media post announcing the donations, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang expressed heartfelt appreciation to Ghanaians for the outpouring of birthday wishes and prayers.
“I want to thank every single person who sent me good wishes and prayers for my birthday. I don’t take your kindness for granted at all,” she wrote.
“We must continue to thank God for His mercies and also remind others that they matter, even when their circumstances are very difficult,” the Vice President added.
