The children of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings – Zanetor, Kimathi, Ezinet, Amina, and their siblings – delivered a moving tribute at her state funeral on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Black Star Square in Accra, hailing her as a fearless “woman of action” whose legacy will continue to inspire generations.
Reading the tribute on behalf of the family, Kimathi Rawlings told the thousands gathered that their mother did not merely speak about change; she embodied it.
“Mum, you were never just advocating. You were doing. You will be remembered as a woman of action,” he said.
He praised her unyielding moral clarity, saying she refused to live in the “uncommitted grey space” and always chose what was right, even when it was difficult.
“You lived your values without reservation, believing that actions were either right or wrong,” Kimathi added.
The children described their mother as the strategic powerhouse behind their father, the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, noting that the couple were true partners in every sense.
“You were far more than a right hand. You were strategic, clear-minded and unwavering. You and Dad were, in truth, one another’s partners,” the tribute read.
As a mother and grandmother, Nana Konadu was remembered as a fierce protector, playful storyteller, music lover and dancer who filled every family gathering with laughter and warmth.
