The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted Mr. Joshua Vidzro, Headmaster of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School (DZOSEC) in the Ketu North Municipality, over allegations of sexual misconduct involving female students at the institution.

In a directive issued on December 6, 2025, by the Volta Regional Directorate of Education, Mr. Vidzro, with staff ID 261730, has been ordered to step aside from his official duties with immediate effect to allow for an urgent investigation into the claims.

The letter, signed by the Volta Regional Director of GES, Francis Yaw Agbemadi emphasized that the move is an administrative precaution to ensure the integrity of the probe and prevent any potential interference.

“You are hereby directed by Management of the Regional Directorate of Education to step aside from your position as the Headmaster of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School with immediate effect,” the letter states, adding that the allegations “require urgent investigation into.”

Mr. Vidzro has been instructed to hand over all official duties, responsibilities, records, and school property in his custody to the Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North. He is also required to vacate the school premises starting Monday, December 8, 2025, following the handover.

During the investigation period, he must remain available to assist authorities but is prohibited from any direct or indirect contact with the affected students or potential witnesses.

GES clarified that the interdiction does not imply guilt, describing it as a standard measure to uphold due process and institutional accountability.

“This directive does not constitute a determination or presumption of guilt on your part, but is an administrative measure issued in furtherance of due process and institutional accountability,” the letter notes.
