Power of Worship International (POWI Nation), a charismatic ministry led by Pastor Daniel Amoateng, has extended its philanthropic outreach to inmates at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison with generous donations of essential items and food provisions, as well as feeding over 3,700 inmates with ready-made food packs.

The donations, made on December 20, 2025, comprised a comprehensive array of goods designed to enhance the welfare, hygiene, and daily needs of the inmates.

The items included 6 bundles of Gentle Care Adult Diapers (60 pieces each), 2 bags of beans, 2 bags of gari, 51 bags of 50kg rice, 10 gallons of 25L cooking oil, 2 bundles of toilet rolls, 1 bundle of anatomical pads, 4,000 pieces of bottled water, 4,000 pieces of soft drinks, 200 pieces of pastries, 100 loaves of bread, 3,700 pieces of cooked food, 3,000 toothbrushes, 3,000 pieces of carbolic soap, 3,000 pieces of Flufsan Lady Pants (8 pieces per pack in 1 box), one 55-inch Skyworth television set, 60 pieces of safety goggles, 10 catheter straps, 24 leg bag straps, 66 urine drainage bags, and 64 leg bags (100ml each).

In a letter of appreciation dated December 23, 2025, signed by Deputy Director of Prisons Andrews K. Osei on behalf of the Officer-in-Charge of the Eastern Regional Command, the Ghana Prisons Service expressed profound gratitude to POWI for the gesture.

The letter highlighted that the donation, which included feeding approximately 3,700 inmates, plays a vital role in supporting the prison’s mandate to meet the welfare needs of those in custody.

“This act of kindness will have a significant impact on the lives of inmates in the Medium Security Prison,” the letter stated, adding prayers for divine replenishment of the church’s efforts.

Nsawam Medium Security Prison, one of Ghana’s largest correctional facilities, often faces challenges with overcrowding, housing far beyond its original capacity.

Such donations are crucial in supplementing resources for inmate welfare, health, and rehabilitation.

Power of Worship International (POWI Nation), headquartered at Basket Junction on Spintex Road in Accra, has a track record of humanitarian initiatives under the leadership of Pastor Daniel Amoateng, a renowned philanthropist and preacher.

The church’s compassion efforts include food banks, support for Akosombo dam spillage disaster victims, and community outreach.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, POWI is also actively working towards facilitating the release of inmates incarcerated for inability to pay court-imposed fines. Additionally, a 30-member legal team from the church is set to provide pro bono legal services to inmates lacking representation, further demonstrating the ministry’s commitment to justice reform and inmate rehabilitation.

During the visit to present the donation to the management and inmates of Nsawam Prison, POWI Nation, led by Pastor Daniel Amoateng, also shared the word of God with the inmates and prayed for them to give them hope.

The donation, coming at a timely period ahead of the festive season, was aimed at bringing relief and hope to the prison community.
