A massive fire outbreak has erupted at the Kasoa New Market in the Central Region, prompting an extensive response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
According to Alex King Nartey, a member of the Public Relations unit of the GNFS, approximately 10 fire tenders have been dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze.
The deployed tenders include units from Legon, Madina, Dansoman and even the Flagstaff House (Jubilee House).
Reinforcements from other stations are supporting local efforts to bring the fire under control.
Mr. Nartey issued a public update via social media while emphasising the scale of the emergency response.
He also advised road users along the Kasoa stretch to exercise extra caution due to the ongoing firefighting operations and potential traffic disruptions.
As of now, details on the cause of the fire, the extent of damage, or any casualties remain unconfirmed, with efforts focused on containing the blaze.
