Greater Accra Table Tennis Assoc. League: Ghana Police And Four Other Teams Maintain 100% Record After 2 Games

The Greater Accra Table Tennis Association League sponsored by J.A. Biney Company Ltd. got of a flying start with several teams showing their mettle in the opening weekend of the competition. With 20 men’s team and 8 women’s team vying for the ultimate prize in both categories, an action packed opening weekend gave all indications the winner of the much coveted trophy could go down to the wire in both divisions.

5 teams from the men’s division can boast of a 100% record after just 2 games, with Ghana Police Service leading the race after winning their first 2 games without dropping a set. The 4 other teams in the men’s category yet to lose are Rising Star, Team Courage, Ghana Prison’s Service and Pot Sport.

In the opening games, there were wins for leaders Police Service who got the better off Top Spinners, Ghana Immigration also saw of Ga Mashie, whiles Rising Star defeated Ghana Army 3-1. In other results Ghana Navy beat Madina Stars in a 5 set thriller, as Faith TTC also recorded a resounding straight sets win over Rising Star.

In the women’s division, Ghana Police Women replicated the exploits of the men’s team with a flawless 3-0 victory over Ghana Fire Service, whiles Ghana Army also saw off Ghana Immigration Service by the same score line.

In the standings, Ghana Police Service leads the men’s division whiles Ghana Army Ladies occupy the summit of the women’s division after match day 1
