The founder of The1957News, Bernard Kwesi Odompleh (Nene Odompleh), on Thursday, March 12, 2026, delivered a guest lecture to Master’s students at the University of Ghana’s Department of Communication Studies on the topic of blogging.
As a guest lecturer, Nene Odompleh was invited to share his expertise as a seasoned blogger and media entrepreneur, offering practical insights and experiences to guide students in creating and managing their own blogs.
Within the M.A. Communication Studies Programme, students are required to produce various communication products, including podcasts, documentaries, blogs, and campaigns, that address important media and communication issues.
As part of measures to equip students with the necessary skills to execute these projects, the department holds weekly seminars featuring professionals who provide students with the technical and hands-on knowledge needed.
The invitation was extended by Aurelia Ayisi (PhD) and Diana A. Sebbie Gama (PhD), with Dr. Sebbie Gama serving as the seminar coordinator for the programme.
During the session, the Founder and Team Lead shared practical insights and experiences on building and sustaining a blog with students of the M.A. class under the topic “How to Blog”.
The lecture centred on strategies for building and sustaining a successful blog, drawing from Odompleh’s extensive experience in online publishing, content creation, and digital journalism.
The session also featured insightful questions and engagements from the students of the M.A. class.
