Former Deputy Ranking Member of Parliament’s Gender and Women’s Committee, Seyram Betty Krosbi Mensah has commended and congratulated Ghana’s Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, on her election as the Second Deputy President of the Pan-African Parliament in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings secured a resounding victory, polling 131 votes against 51, reflecting the confidence reposed in her leadership and competence by members of the continental body.
Seyram Betty Krosbi Mensah noted that this emphatic win not only highlights Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings’ personal dedication and excellence but also reinforces Ghana’s strong democratic credentials and the high standard of its parliamentary representation on the African stage.
By this achievement, Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings will serve as the Second Deputy Speaker of the Pan-African Parliament and becomes the first female representative of the West African Caucus to occupy this distinguished position in the history of the institution.
Seyram Betty Krosbi Mensah further expressed confidence that Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings will bring her wealth of experience to bear in advancing the ideals of the Pan-African Parliament and promoting unity, development, and inclusive governance across the continent.
