Residents and business owners affected by the recent floods in Ablekuma North have received relief items from the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Ewurabena Aubynn, as part of efforts to support their recovery.
The donation, comprising mattresses, bags of rice, cooking oil, detergents, blankets and other essential household items, was presented to families whose homes and businesses were devastated by the floods.
Several communities in the constituency were inundated following the heavy rains, leaving many households displaced and causing significant damage to property and sources of livelihood.
Beyond the donation, Ewurabena Aubynn toured the affected communities to assess the extent of the destruction, visited victims in their homes and engaged community leaders and other relevant stakeholders to discuss immediate relief and longer-term measures to address the recurring flooding challenge.
The MP reaffirmed a commitment to standing with constituents in difficult times, emphasising that supporting vulnerable residents remains central to the mandate entrusted to the office.
Beneficiaries described the intervention as timely, saying the relief items would ease the burden on families as they begin rebuilding their lives.
The flood relief exercise adds to a series of humanitarian interventions undertaken by Ewurabena Aubynn during the her first year in office, reinforcing a leadership approach centred on community engagement, responsiveness and support for vulnerable residents.
