The Kwahu Afram Plains North District Assembly has handed over a site to a contractor for the construction of a modern kindergarten (KG) block at the Donkorkrom Islamic School.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Kate Mawusi Babanawo, officially handed over the site on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to pave the way for work to begin on the project.
According to the DCE, the project has a contractual completion period of six months, although the contractor has committed to completing the facility ahead of schedule and handing it over to the school by the early part of the second term of the 2026/2027 academic year.
She said the project is intended to provide a safe, conducive and child-friendly learning environment for pupils while supporting the improvement of early childhood education in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District.
During the site handover, Babanawo charged the contractor to ensure quality workmanship, adhere to the approved specifications and complete the project on schedule for the benefit of pupils and teachers.
She said the Assembly remained committed to improving educational infrastructure across the district and creating better learning conditions for children.
The DCE also expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for his continued support for education and development in the district.
