Naomi Quartey, known in showbiz as DJ Spices, has been adjudged Young DJ of the Year at the 2022 Ghana DJ Awards.

The Talented Kids season 11 first runner-up beat competition from DJ Guru, another talented youngster at the awards ceremony held at the Silver Star Tower, to win the coveted award.

The awards ceremony, known as Africa’s biggest DJ festival, hosted by Andy Dosty, saw performances by Black Sherif, Keche, Amerado, AK Songstress, DJ Nicki Carter, Gibrilville, DJ Raennie, and a host of other great performers.

The 11-year-old DJ who has won the hearts of many Ghanaians on the Talented Kids platform, as well as the Bambini Show, is a student of Royal Heritage Academy and hails from Gomoah Akotsi in the Central region of Ghana.

In 2021 DJ Spices was nominated in the same category but failed to win. She told newsmen during an interview after the event that “I am going to work harder and believe my hard work will be crowned with the award I aspire for”.

It, therefore, came as no surprise when she was announced the winner at the star-studded event.

DJ Spices has been endorsed by several Ghanaian stars including Kuami Eugene, Mr. Drew, Dr. Pounds, and Kidi.
