John Boadu pledges to rebuild NPP grassroots and win power in 2028
Newly elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has pledged to rebuild the party’s grassroots structures and reorganise its base ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking after his election, Mr Boadu thanked delegates for entrusting him and his team with the responsibility of leading the party.
He described the election as a moment of responsibility rather than merely a victory, stressing the need for unity within the party.
“Today is not merely a day of victory, but a day of responsibility,” he said.
Mr Boadu said the outcome of the election should not create divisions within the party, insisting that all members remain part of one NPP family.
“I want to say that in this election, there are no winners, there are no losers. We are one NPP family,” he stated.
He pledged to work closely with regional and constituency executives, Members of Parliament, the Council of Elders, Patrons, TESCON and other volunteer groups to strengthen the party.
According to him, the immediate task is to rebuild the NPP from the polling station level and strengthen its grassroots structures.
“Our task is simple. To rebuild our party from the polling station… to rebuild our grassroots structures and make the NPP win again,” he said.
Mr Boadu also promised a listening leadership that would maintain a strong presence at the grassroots.
“We are going to be a listening leadership. We will be at the grassroots. We will rebuild, we will reorganise, and we will win power in 2028,” he added.
He concluded by thanking party delegates and supporters and called for unity as the NPP begins its new phase of leadership.
“God bless the NPP, God bless Ghana,” Mr Boadu said.
