2022 BECE Graduates Will Not Go Through Double-Track System – GES

The 552,288 Junior High School candidates(276,999 males and 275,289 females) who sat for the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) are said to go through a single-track system of Senior High School (SHS) education without a division as compared to the immediate years.

According to the Ghana Education Service, several preparations are put in place to ensure that, the various Senior High Schools across the country are able to accommodate the number of students who will be enrolled in their institutions.

A new calendar shared by the Education Service states that the students who successfully passed their exams (BECE) are expected to commence academic work effective February 20 and vacate by April 2023 respectively. The new calendar, however, is applicable to both double and single-track schools.

Moreover, the Service cautions all graduates on the 2022 BECE list to keep an eye on the specific date on which the various schools’ admission process will initiate for all fresh students.

The Ghana Education Service assures that the school placement list for the graduates will be generally announced by the end of the month February. Nevertheless, the school placement will be based solely on each student’s aggregate attained from the examination.

The yet-to-be first years of the various Senior High Schools are thereby reminded to stay away from people who vow to make changes to schools. Hence, all students are encouraged to maintain the institution in which they are placed to school.
