Cyril Ramaphosa, the president of South Africa has rejected the request by a provincial government to commemorate a state burial to bid the renowned Rapper AKA who according to the Police, was assassinated on February 10 at Durban, South Africa. This was reported by the local media.

After the sudden death of the rapper Kiernan Forbes, who was famously known in the music circles as Rapper AKA, Panyaza Lesufi, the premier of Gauteng wrote to the president of South Africa seeking permission and acceptance to bid a state burial for the deceased, however, it was reported on Thursday that, the president had rejected the request.

According to a clarity made by Mr. Panyaza Lesufi, the request to organize a state burial for the late rapper excluded funds to fuel the funeral service but since he was a public figure and was well known in and outside the country, flags must be raised and flown in honor of him.

“We felt that the person of his international stature, a person of his national stature, there must be some form of honor, and we want to clarify it is not a financial contribution”.

Rapper AKA’s burial is on Saturday, this follows his public memorial service which is said to be held on Friday.
