The ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture is organizing a free maiden musical concert at the renovated Kwane Nkrumah Memorial Park on July 7.

The concert, which is dubbed “Reignition,” is headlined by Dancehall Reggae artist Samini and four-time VGMA songwriter Kofi Kinaata, who belong to the high-grade family.

The ministry, which was pivotal in the renovation of the historic landmark, sets the live performance as a precursor to imbibing our rich music into the recognition of the legacy of the first President of Ghana.

It is also a path they are charting to throng crowds to have an experience of the stunning architecture and improvements of the newly renovated Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

The ministry is tasked with making the state rake in enough revenue from the history in that museum as well as setting it as a pinnacle of Pan-African pride in the subregion, which will offer vast knowledge on Pan-Africanism and early post-colonial rule in Ghana.

At the inauguration of the redeveloped museum, President Akufo Addo remarked that it was one of the government’s plans to make the memorial park one of West Africa’s best tourism and attraction sites.

In his speech, he recounted that the significance of the redevelopment should echo the outstanding feats Nkrumah achieved as a Pan-Africanist who believed in uniting Africa. He also stated that the government is committed to building more museums to make the country the hub of tourism in the sub-region.

“It must be a proof of the status of the exceptional contribution to the liberation of Africa from colonialism and imperialism.”

“As part of measures to make Ghana the hub of tourism in West Africa, we are building museums and other tourist attractions,” he said.

The Kwame Nkrumah Menorial Park was under renovation for 2 years and officially inaugurated by the president on June 4.The epic landmark has a restaurant, library, eatery, gift shop, and conference facility.
