The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, has donated relief items to traders at the Mallam Market to support victims of the recent floods that devastated businesses and disrupted livelihoods in parts of the constituency.

The donation formed part of the MP’s continuing humanitarian efforts to provide immediate assistance to traders who suffered significant losses following the floods.

The relief package included several bags of rice, cooking oil, sugar and other essential food and non-food items to help affected traders and their families cope with the aftermath of the disaster. In addition, mattresses were presented to potters and other artisans whose homes and workspaces were severely affected by the flooding.

Recognising the growing security concerns in and around the market, Ms Aubynn also donated 20 streetlights to improve visibility and help curb the rampant theft that has plagued traders, particularly at night.

Addressing the beneficiaries, the Ablekuma North legislator reaffirmed her commitment to standing with her constituents during difficult times, emphasising that leadership is about responding to the needs of the people, especially in moments of hardship.

She said the intervention was intended not only to provide immediate relief but also to reassure traders that they were not alone as they worked to rebuild their businesses.

The gesture was warmly received by the market community, with many describing it as timely and a demonstration of the MP’s deep concern for the welfare of her constituents.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Nat, the Market King, expressed profound appreciation to the Member of Parliament for what he described as her compassion and unwavering commitment to the people of Ablekuma North.

He said the donated food items would bring much-needed relief to traders struggling to recover from the floods, while the installation of the streetlights would significantly enhance security within the market and its surrounding areas.
Mr Nat commended Ms Aubynn for consistently identifying with the needs of the community and pledged their support and prayers for her for responsive and people-centred leadership.

The latest intervention adds to a growing list of philanthropic initiatives undertaken by Ewurabena Aubynn, whose compassion has continued to earn admiration across Ablekuma North as she remains committed to improving the lives of residents through practical and timely support.
