The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has announced plans to establish a special task force to oversee the safe and environmentally responsible disposal of sanitary pads in schools across the country. President John Dramani Mahama has hinted that the current cohort of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) may be the last to be appointed under Ghana’s existing governance structure. The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disconnected the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) from the national grid over debts amounting to GH₵999.6 million and GH₵3.153 billion, respectively. The disconnections form part of a nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise being conducted by ECG.
