Bekwai MP Ralph Poku-Adusei acquires two pickups for constituency office
The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Ralph Poku-Adusei, has taken delivery of two new pickup vehicles dedicated to the operations of his constituency office to improve engagement with constituents and strengthen service delivery.
The vehicles are expected to support the work of the MP’s local team, particularly when he is in Accra attending parliamentary sittings, committee meetings and engagements with government institutions.
In a statement accompanying the unveiling of the vehicles, Mr Poku-Adusei said the acquisition was part of his commitment to making his office more accessible and responsive to the needs of the people.
“These pickups will facilitate dedicated work and ensure that my office is never distant from the people who gave me the mandate,” he said.
The Bekwai MP said his objective was to ensure that constituents could readily communicate their concerns to his office, allowing issues requiring local action, parliamentary advocacy or ministerial intervention to be identified and addressed.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to representing all constituents, irrespective of their political affiliation, religion or ethnicity.
“My role as a Member of Parliament is to represent the people of Bekwai without recourse to political, religious, or ethnic considerations. I was elected to serve all,” he said.
The acquisition forms part of a broader set of initiatives the MP says are aimed at improving access to information, supporting livelihoods and advancing development in the constituency.
Among these is the establishment of Amansie FM in Bekwai, which provides a platform for public education and information dissemination. Government institutions, security services, hospitals and the education and health directorates have been allocated free airtime to inform residents about their activities and programmes.
Mr Poku-Adusei has also introduced a micro-credit scheme aimed at supporting local economic activity, with particular attention to women petty traders.
The two pickups are intended to strengthen the operational capacity of his constituency office as he continues to balance his parliamentary responsibilities with engagements in Bekwai.
The MP says his broader development vision is to make the constituency increasingly self-sufficient while ensuring that his representation remains accessible and responsive to residents’ needs.
